Starland Coffee Co. was founded in 2010 in Gibbon, Minnesota — a small town surrounded by farmland, far from the urban coffee scenes of Minneapolis or Chicago. That distance is deliberate. Out here, there are fewer distractions and more space to focus on the work.
What started as a single roaster and a conviction that specialty coffee shouldn’t require a big-city zip code has grown into a small but dedicated operation. We source green coffee from farms we trust, roast it in small batches, and ship it directly to people who care about what they drink.
We haven’t expanded rapidly. We’ve expanded carefully. Every new coffee on our menu has been tested, re-tested, and discussed at length. We’d rather offer four excellent coffees than forty adequate ones.
Good coffee takes time — from growing to processing to roasting. We don’t rush any part of it.
We tell you where your coffee comes from, how it was processed, and when it was roasted. No vague claims.
We work with importers and farms we’ve known for years. Trust is built slowly, and it shows in the cup.
